ski days

Elise is full of imagination and creativity. Ask her to make up a song or a dance, and she begins by determining the best lighting and will coordinate the perfect costume before belting out some pretty spot on notes. She can be content for a solid hour at the table with white paper and a few markers. And when it comes to books and stories, Elise can never have enough. I could never count the number of times I've heard her say, "Tell me a story."

But... ask Elise if she wants to go skiing, and you will hear a confident "no, I don't want to." Elise is a little timid on her feet. She's still hesitant when it comes to slides a the park, and she's just beginning to show an interest in bike riding (but she's content on a trike). And she loves to be in a pool... just so long as she doesn't have to swim.

As much as we've tried to encourage her, she just isn't into sports (yet?) or physical activity (other than dancing, of course). So, when Elise (after a little nudging from her older cousins) said she would try skiing at Copper, we were surprised and thrilled. Here she is, brave as ever...
