Father's Day 2007

Here's our special guy with his precious baby girl. We had a great day together. The weather was gorgeous the first half of the day so we were able to walk to church and squeeze in some beach time later on before Elise's afternoon nap. The rain that eventually showed up was actually refreshing and made for a cozy afternoon.

Toby is an incredible father to Elise. We are so blessed to have him. We are also blessed to have great fathers of our own as well as other family members and friends in our lives who have been wonderful examples of great dads. Three cheers to great dads!

splish splash

Elise loves her new blow-up pool! Unfortunately it's too cold for her to "swim" today, but yesterday - her first time in her own pool - she absolutely loved it. Here's the proof...

new accomplishments

eating corn on the cob

wearing pigtails (the frown is not new)
and sailing (see below)...

Sailing Lake Superior

Terry and Chip, a couple at our church, invited us to go sailing with them today on their 36-ft Catalina. It was a beautiful boat and a beautiful day to be on the water. Elise did pretty well on our 4 hour joy ride, and daddy Toby was in his glory.

Big Girl

Elise is definitely looking more and more like a little girl these days and less and less like a baby. This picture was taken a couple of weeks ago at our cabin in Iron Mountain. I can't believe how grown up this picture makes her look!
Elise has been super happy and healthy lately. She's sleeping and eating great and doesn't at all seem to mind that we're still living out of duffle bags as we go back and forth between Iron Mountain and Marquette.

We're back in Marquette right now (with Internet service - yeah!!), and it's been a beautiful Saturday on the lake. We actually just spent the last 4 hours on a 36-ft. sailboat. I'll write more about that adventure and include some photos in my next blog entry.

Out of curiousity I searched through some old files to see what Elise looked like a year ago in June of '06. This is what I found... :)

Aunt Tarami - who was our live-in nanny at the time - had a lot of fun dressing up Elise in this dress she bought for her. Elise has definitely changed since then!
