the 4th
On Thursday we roamed around the Grand Junction Farmer's Market for an hour or so and had a great time. Elise especially enjoyed having her first snow cone. Cold treats are a sure hit when it's in the high 90s!
The GJ parade on the 4th was more of an old car show than a parade. Well... there were also some horses, one clown, a semi, a float with singing kids, and a couple of politicians. As simple as it was, we really enjoyed ourselves. Elise was thrilled. She sat in her chair waving at everyone passing by.

kid friendly town
Saying goodbye to the UP Children's Museum and the Marquette public library was not fun. But, thankfully, we're quickly finding new fun things to do in Grand Junction. There are great parks, a public pool, drop-in mommy and me preschool classes, puppet shows at the library (FREE!), and much more. Take a look...
Elise loves SPLASH PAD! It's a kiddie water park next to the public pool that only costs $1.
Here she is at Kidzplex in one of two ball pits. She could "swim" in the ball pit for hours if I let her.
Elise also loves to just play in her room. Her little imagination is taking off. I love to listen in and hear her talking with her toys. :)
Elise's signature funny look... just for the fun of it. :)
Whatchoo talkin' about Mommy?
