Elise's Newsies party
Elise loves musicals. Always has and I hope she always will. It all started with Mary Poppins. Then there was Annie. Now there is Newsies. Newsies is a 1992 Disney musical starring Christian Bale. We own the DVD and watch it often. We own the soundtrack and have nightly Newsies dance parties around the family room. Even Claire and Sylvie sing and dance along. Well, Sylvie does an adorable lip sync, but I'm sure it won't be long...
So, although it's a pretty safe bet that Elise is the only 6-year-old in the country who asked for a Newsies-themed birthday party this year, it couldn't have been more perfect. My girl is totally unique, and we love her that way.
We put three leaves into the table to accommodate all 13 party guests.
I greeted the girls upstairs while Toby got the girls ready for viewing the movie highlights downstairs.
While they waited for all the guests to arrive, the girls got started with today's "pape" (newspaper) and the daily puzzle (a word search with all their names hidden inside). I probably should have taken a photo of the "pape" I made, along with the invitation... Hmm... maybe I can add that later.

The party was a big success! Hooray! Now this tired mama is heading to bed. :)

I wanted to sit down and quickly post Elise's birthday photos. And then I realized I still have Christmas photos to post. I'm a month behind on the blog and five months behind on Snapfish albums. Yikes. Good thing there isn't much on the February calendar. I think it's time to get caught up!
