Mom and Dad Long arrived on the 23rd. Despite dealing with a flu bug, Elise managed to enjoy some fun Christmas memory making.
Poppy taught Claire and Elise a new card game. They called it "Garbage," "Trash," and "Junk in the Trunk." I'm still not sure of the proper name.

Not too snowy, but cold. Nice weather for snuggles by the fire.
This is my "I have the flu but I'm trying to ignore it" face.
The stockings - once hung by the chimney with care - were too stuffed on Christmas to stay up there.

Yes, Claire opened a Barbie.
Why did that have to be the only thing she asked for?
Doesn't Santa understand our objections to this?
Oh, and about Claire's band-aid... she split her head open on a wooden tray. Another scar for that precious little head.

Happy birthday, Jesus!
We had some lovely Christmas moments, but unfortunately Christmas 2012 will mostly be remembered for all the illness. We all took our turn with a horrible flu bug and the girls each had a stomach virus as well. Thank God we are all recovering. And thank God for medicine, comfy beds, and popsicles. Looking forward to healthier days in 2013.
