Sylvie is TWO!

Happy birthday, beautiful.

Ten cute things about our adorable TWO year old:

1. She is always pretty bouncy.  Full of life and excitement.
2.  She loves to do whatever her big sisters are doing.  For better or worse.
3.  She loves her "night night" and "paci."
4. She's talking so much these days.  "What doing, mom?" is my new favorite.
5.  She's got a good appetite and a pretty decent sweet tooth.
6.  She loves to look at books, just like her big sisters.
7.  We're training her well to like "sparkle" water.
8.  Sylvie has a great belly laugh.  She loves to be tickled and wrestle with daddy.
9.  Friends, family, strangers... all comment on her cute curly hair.
10.  She's just wonderful... joyful, friendly, adventurous.  And I'm completely in love with her. :)

The first day of school 2012

 My big 1st grader!

Pretty excited on day one.  Who would have known at this point that she would spend the next 2 1/2 weeks crying every morning and not wanting to go?  Thankfully, she's discovered that she actually likes school and nothing - not even tears - will get her out of going.  We both still wish the school day wasn't as long as it is (7 hours) or start as early as it does (7:40am!), but we're all adjusting again.

 My big preschooler!

The tired but happy baby sister.

 Breakfast on the big day.

 Ready or not...

 All smiles.  No tears!

Before and After

Elise lost her first tooth on September 6, 2012.  The above "before" shot was taken in August when she first discovered that the tooth was wiggly.  A simple, expected part of growing up that seems so huge and somehow surprising to me.  How is my baby losing her teeth already!?  Those teeth she (we) worked so hard to get in just fall out!?

It is now October 2nd and Elise has yet to put her tooth under her pillow.  "But I miss it, mom."  "I don't want the tooth fairy to take it."  I always knew she was a bit of a hoarder, but I never expected this!  So, for now, the tooth resides in a small, covered bowl in the kitchen.  We might have quite the collection by the time she's a teenager.
