butterball

Our little Sylvie is not so little anymore.

She is growing at an incredible rate. This girl is so plump she even has back rolls (see below). And I just love her thighs, with their deep creases and squishy chub. She's wonderful, every skin-stretched, rolly-polly inch.

I keep wondering if she'll fall off the weight charts like her two older sisters did. Or do I finally have an easy-going eater who actually follows the growth curve? I do hope so... 'cause I just can't have too much Sylvie to love. :)

Is she huge or what!?!?
(Sorry Sylvie. Please forgive this post.)

Quick Trip

Toby had a day off yesterday, so we made a quick trip up to the Grand Mesa to ski. Unfortunately it was way too windy and snowy for me to ski and carry Sylvie in the Bjorn. So, Sylvie and I hung out in the warm van while Toby pulled Elise and Claire for a quick 30-minute loop. They loved it but were happy to return to the van to warm up with some hot chocolate.

Toys...

Who needs 'em? Not my girls. They've been awake now for three hours, and they have not played with any of their toys. This is actually quite typical. Instead, Elise has been making pictures - and not even with her coloring books and markers. No, she is content with white paper and a pencil. And Claire???

A belt.

She found it in the bottom of my closet and has been playing with it for an hour.

And notice her happy face. We've been practicing saying "cheeeese!" for the camera. :)

(Side note: I don't even know who's belt this is! Aunt Tarami, is this yours???)

lazy day

We're enjoying a lazy day at home. No where to go. Later it's suppose to reach 55 degrees, so our one outing will likely be to the park. In the meantime, this is how the girls are spending their morning...

tummy time for Sylvie

book time for Claire and Elise

And, yes, she is wearing her Valentine's Day outfit from yesterday, because...

I've got enough laundry to get through today. I guess today won't be as much of a lazy day as I would like. :) Helpers? Anyone?

Daddy home for dinner

Teaching service. The rotation in residency I dread the most. Long hours, early mornings, late nights, 30-hr calls, drained husband, girls missing their daddy.... ugh. We're in week one of four, and it's already beginning to take a toll.

Thankfully, Toby was able to come home for dinner the other night and then head back to the clinic to finish up some work. Here he is getting some cuddle time with his girls:

sleigh ride and sledding

We joined some great friends for a day of winter fun in Carbondale, CO. Thank you Knaus and Campbell families for a great time!

Meeting the horses. Check out Ellie's face (in pink). :)

Great family memory.

All bundled up and enjoying a perfect winter afternoon in the mountains.

On to the sledding hill!
This was Elise's first time sledding. She was a bit cautious but she loved it.

It was also Claire's first time on a sled. At the bottom of the hill Toby asked her if she liked it. She gave the classic Claire nod. Subtle, but certain.

AWESOME.
(Lorri, I totally stole this photo from you! Thanks. It's my favorite.)
